This week parents consultations will be on Monday and Wednesday. Please message if you are not able to make the appointment or need to reschedule.

 

Literacy -This week we will be reading 'Into the forest' by Anthony Browne. We will be making links to other books from this one. We will be focusing on past and present tense, sorting verbs into these two categories, identifying verbs in the text, writing in past tense a diary of what he did and answering comprehension questions.

 

Maths- Year 2 will be working on position and direction. We will be working on turns and movement, describing and problem solving with position and making patterns with shape. We will be focusing on fluency of the 4 operations in our warm ups.

Year 1 - This week we are learning about capacity and volume. We will be exploring how much containers can hold and how much liquid is in the containers. 

 

Phonics - Year 2 will be looking at the alternative spelling patterns for /oi/ and /r/.

 

Year 1 - We are learning the tricky words some, come, were and there. We are recapping the sounds a-e, u-e, e-e. 

 

Topic - We will be looking at the UK map, where we live in relation to it, where woodlands are around us and the physical and human features in our environment. We will be drawing an owl following the success of our amazing hedgehogs! They we continue the rotational activities on Vincent Van Gogh.

 

Computing -Year 1 will continue to work on coding and year 2 will be working on using the computers to create music.

 

Science - Year 1 will be looking at taking care of animals at the vets and the zoos. Year 2 will be continuing to develop their understanding of living things using MRS GREN and looking at their local habitats of their school field.
