This week in Beech Class we are reading the story 'The Gingerbread Man.' The children need to keep a look out for the Gingerbread Man as he has some special challenges for them to complete! We will be decorating a Gingerbread Man with sequins and buttons and making our very own Gingerbread Man and decorating it. The children will then be able to take it home to eat. The ingredients we will be using are: butter, plain flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, bicarbonate of soda, golden syrup, egg and icing. If you have any concerns regarding allergies, please let us know.
In maths this week, we will be gathering 5 objects, hiding some of them and then finding out how many we have left. We will also be comparing mass how heavy and light objects are by putting different objects on a balance scale, measuring capacity exploring how much liquid is in a cup using the vocabulary full, empty, nearly full and nearly empty.
In phonics, we will be learning to write captions, read two syllable words, write words in sentences and revise the sounds we have learnt so far.
