Topic / DT: We will be finishing our Viking shields this week. They have all been painting and look fantastic so far! We will be adding detail using tape, silver pots and handles. We've thought carefully about how we can make them look realistic without the cost of using wood and metal. We can't wait to show you the final pieces.
Literacy: This week we will be moving on the write our own Viking sagas. We will be using the text, 'Arthur and the Golden Rope', written by Joe Todd-Stanton. This comic-style text will be a brilliant way of introducing inverted commas and using these to show dialogue between characters. We will take part of the saga and re-write it to include our own mythical creature and our own ending.
Maths: We are moving on to learning about time this week. We will be reading the time on an analogue clocks as well as a digital clock. We will be learning how to read to the nearest minute as well as finding out about hours, days, months and years. We will then be applying these skills to problem solving.
Forest Schools: Monday afternoon, please wear the appropriate clothing to school.
PE: Due to Forest Schools taking up one of our PE sessions, we are now only doing PE on Wednesday afternoons. As soon as it is sunny enough, we will go outside to play rounders this term.
