This week we will be starting practising our Christmas play properly. I hope you have all been learning the songs and your lines.
Literacy- We will be reading the book 'Ice bear' and looking at facts about polar bears. We will be looking at non fiction writing about polar bears. We will be finding out about adopting a polar bear and why it is so important to adopt one. We will be writing letters persuading parents to let us adopt a polar bear and help us fund this. We will be considering the reasons behind this and talking about climate change.
Maths- Year 1 - This week in maths we are learning to subtract by finding a part, counting back and finding the difference.
Year 2 - We will be working on number bonds and extending this to bonds to 100, we will be adding 3 one digit numbers and assessing their understanding so far. We will also be starting a unit on money including recognising and counting coins. Can you find some coins at home for your children to count? Can they find different ways to make the same amount.
Topic- We will improving our computing skills at creating a picture about the polar regions, creating a piece of art of a polar bear, finding our about the inuits and how they live.

Year 2 will be revising wh, ph, ew, oe, au and ey.
