Our last week before half term and your children have worked amazingly hard!
Thursday we will be having the toy museum in for our workshops.
Also, there might be a treat on Thursday afternoon as a reward for working so hard!
Literacy - This week we are doing some work on poetry to do with toys. We will be rhyming words and writing short poems to read aloud. We will be continuing to work on our handwriting and writing a short poem to practise our letter formation.
Maths- Year 2- We will be continuing to work on fractions. We will be looking at how 1/2 is equivilant to 2/4, 3/4, counting in 1/2's and 1/4' and solving fraction problems.
Year 1's will be ordering numbers to 50, counting in 2s and 5s.
Phonics - Year 2 will be revising alternative spelling patterns for ee and oa.
Year 1 will be revising phase 5 phonemes ou, ie, ea and the tricky words oh, their and people.
Science - Year 1 will be testing the properties of materials in an investigation. Year 2 will be investigating the durability of materials, testing to see which materials would make the best board game.
RE - We will be continuing to think about Jewish good deeds 'mitzvah'. We will be thinking about how Jewish good deeds can make the world a better place.
Friday Home Learning
Here are some activities you can choose do from home today. I would love to see any work you do, so you can upload them onto Dojo. I hope you all keep safe and have a lovely half term. You have all worked very hard.
Read the poem and underline any verbs (doing words) answer the questions on the sheet.
