Wb 1.3.22

We hope you all had a lovely half term. It is Shove Tuesday so we are very lucky we will be tasting pancakes.

This week our story is 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff.' We will be making bridges and seeing which is the strongest bridge to hold the goats. We will be writing about what we did in the holidays and our Garden Centre is open to buy and sell some plants, seeds and pots.

In Phonics this week, we are continuing learning Phase 4. In Phase 4, the children explore more polysyllabic words (words containing more than one syllable). Many of the words in Phase 2 and 3 required children to blend 1 syllable. Phase 4 requires children to blend an increasing number of sounds together in order to read.

In maths this week, we will be exploring how many different ways we can make 9 and 10 and sorting representations of 9 and 10. Which pictures show 9 and which pictures show 10?

Reminder Thursday is World Book day. Are you going to dress up as a book character or a word for us to guess? We'll be dressing up too!
