Wb 10.1.22

This week we are still looking at the story of the 'Three Little Pigs' we will be building houses for the Three Little pigs using bricks and sticks and shaving foam. We will be making pigs out of playdough and retelling the story. We will also be writing a sentence to match a picture from the story.

In maths this week, we will be comparing numbers to 5. We will have plates of pretend food and compare which plate has more/less food. We will look at equal and unequal groups. Can we share sweets between two toys fairly? We will be comparing different ways to make 5. Can we make a tower of 5 using 2 different coloured bricks? We willl be working out how many altogether by putting people on a pretend bus. Finally we will be looking at sharing out 5 between 3 groups. If we had 5 sweets how can we share them between 3 plates?

In phonics this week, we are learning the air, ure and er sounds. We will also be learning to read words in sentences and learn the tricky word 'they'.
