This week we will also be starting drawing club.  Drawing Club is a fun and imaginative approach to early literacy created by Greg Bottrill. Through exciting stories, picture books, animations and characters, children are encouraged to draw, talk, think creatively and develop their early writing skills.

During Drawing Club sessions, children listen to a story or adventure and then create their own drawings, ideas and "magic codes" (writing). This helps to build their vocabulary, communication, imagination, confidence and understanding of print in an engaging and meaningful way.

Drawing Club supports children to become enthusiastic storytellers, readers and writers while having lots of fun exploring their ideas and creativity.

This week in drawing club we will be listening to the story of The Leaf Thief and then drawing the squirrel, inventing a way to catch the leaf thief and inventing a forest friend for the leaf thief.
