w/b 2nd November 2026

THIS WEEK:

School Value Focus: EMPATHY

British Value Focus: INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY and MUTUAL RESPECT

Year 3s have Forest Schools on Tuesday afternoon. Wear PE kits to school for the morning. Please remember to bring appropriate clothing and footwear in a bag.

Literacy: We start the new half - term by looking at a new text. We will be reading Malala's Magic Pencil. This is a beautiful text based on the true story of Malala Yousafzai and her inspiring story for change.  Our grammar focus will be tenses, learning about how to use past, present and future tenses in our writing. The children will be writing persuasive letters for change as their destination pieces of writing.

Maths: Year 3s will be finishing off the unit of Addition and Subtraction. Year 4s will be moving onto their next unit of Area. This is only a short unit with 4 small steps, taking us the week to complete.

RE: We will be starting our new unit called, 'How do Christians show that 'reconciliation' with God and other people is important?' We will start the unit by looking at some new vocabulary linked to our learning. This will then help us as we begin our journey.

PSHE: Our focus for this half-term is safety. We will begin the unit by exploring firework safety as it will be firework night!

Christmas Play rehearsals: Please continue to practise singing the songs with your children at home, and support your child with any speaking parts they may have.
