FOREST SCHOOL BEGINS FOR YEAR 2.

YEAR 2 LIBRARY VISIT IS WEDNESDAY.

Literacy - This week we will begin by writing about our time away from school. We will then use the text The Pirates Next Door. We will be brainstorming adjectives about pirates, writing wanted posters for pirates, writing a message in a bottle and answering comprehension questions about the text.

Phonics - Year 2 will be learning when you need to double the consonant and add er or est. Also, learning the spelling pattern when ey makes an /ee/.

Year 1

Maths - Year 2 will begin by revising parts and wholes, learning which are equal and unequal parts, recognising half, finding half and recognising a quarter.

Year 1

Science - Year 1 will be exploring parts of  plant and a tree. 

Design and technology- We will be looking at where our food comes from.

History -We will be finding out about some famous pirates this week.

Computing - Year 1 will be following simple algorithms to create a bird and house picture digitally. Year 2 will be exploring how light effects a photo. We will also be learning more about online safety.
