PE - WEDNESDAY
FOREST SCHOOL THURSDAY
In drawing club, we are reading the story 'Hansel and Gretel' We have the characters from the story in our small world, so the children can retell the story and we have a challenge to turn the dolls house into a house of sweets. We will be introducing new vocabulary using our "get up, stand up" words. These words are confectionary, wicked, double, swish, piercing and innocent. We will be drawing the witch, the witch's house of sweets, the witch wants to buy a new spider but she doesn't know which to choose, the pet spider likes biting people! What will it turn the teacher into if it bites them? We will use code words and sentences to make funny things happen.
In phonics, this week we will be recapping the phase 3 sounds /ur/ /ow/ /oi/ /er/ /ear/ air/ /ure/. We will also be focusing on all the tricky words we have learnt so far.
In maths this week, we will be focussing on odd and even numbers to 10. We will be doubling numbers and recognising 3D shapes.
We are going to continue talking about what plants need to grow as we plant our own beans to bring home. Once the beans are home the children are going to look after them and are going to let us know when they see the first shoot. Parents please could send photos to school of your beans as they begin to grow. How exciting!
