Today, I will be handing out the new spellings for the week. I have attached both the Year 2 and and Year 3 spellings. If you are not sure which list your child usually has, please do contact me and ask. Practise these in spellings journals for 10 or 15 minutes today. Encourage your child to use each word in a sentence. Use the spelling activities sheet that I handed out last week for inspiration.
In school we would have a assembly for 15 minutes to start the week. Then we would begin our first lesson and spend an hour on this before playtime. Please bear this is mind as you support your child with their learning today. They may need a brain break after either maths or literacy as we would usually have play time with a snack and a toilet break before we start our next lesson hour lesson.
At 11:30am we read our reading books, change our books and record our reading in our diaries. Some children use their 'Sound bags' to practise their phonics. Other children like to share a topic book with a friend or read to an adult. Take some time today to do this.
This afternoon, we have Forest Schools. Use this time at home to either practise Times Tables Rockstars, use Purple Mash to access Coding which we have been enjoying on Monday afternoons, or spend some time outside in the garden or going for a walk if you all feel well enough. Be safe and send me photos of your afternoon activities.
