Week 1 – Wednesday 2^nd September

General: PE is on Monday and Tuesday (Normal uniform only required this week). Please remember named wellies and a waterproof coat!

The new reading diary will start coming home this week. Please ensure that this is in school every day, with a reading book. The children can choose a book from school, or home. We will ensure they are reading a book that is an appropriate level for them.

Maths – We will start by checking our place value knowledge, times tables and mental maths this week. This will support planning and appropriate preparation of independent work for our first maths unit (place value) that will commence on Friday.

English – This week we will be getting to know our writing levels through creative writing and our first reading comprehension. No weekly spellings this week – these will start next Monday when the first list will be sent home after being introduced in class.

Science – Living things and their habitat: We will look at conditions for life.

Topic (History) – We will begin to look at WWII starting with the timeline and causes of the War.
