Forest School is Tuesday for year 1.

PE is Tuesday and Thursday.

Wednesday we have the Rainbow Theatre group coming in do some drama with the children about the Great Fire of London.

Thursday morning is our Harvest festival (TBC)

Literacy - This week we will be using the text 'Jack and Flum Flum Tree'. We will be writing questions before we read the book using the question words where, why, who, when, what. Year 2's will be using commas in a list. We will be considering what else we might take on an adventure and what it could be used for.

Phonics - Year 2 will be revising the various spelling patterns for /ir/ /ou/ and /au/. Also the spelling pattern kn and gn. 

Year 1 will begin learning the phase 5 sounds, ay, ea and ie.

Maths - Year 2 will be exploring fact families within 20, related facts to 20, bonds to 100 (tens), adding and subtracting ones and begin adding  by making 10 e.g. 7+5 = 7+3+2=

Year 1 - number bonds within 10, systematic number bonds within 10, number bonds to 10, addition adding together

History - We will be finding out how we know about the Great Fire of London and considering sources of information. We will be finding out about Samuel Pepys as a person of significant interest.

Science- Year 1 will be exploring smell and year 2 will be exploring the effect exercise has on the body.

Art - We will be experimental mark making using water soluable pens.

PSHE - We will be considering our reaction and responses to our feelings.
