w/b 1st June 2026

Welcome back, I hope you have all enjoyed a lovely week off school full of sunshine!

This half term, on Tuesday mornings, Forest Schools Emma has offered us a few more sessions. Week 1 and 2 will be for Year 4s. I will pop this on the dojo too.

Swimming, our slots for the poll will be Monday afternoons and Wednesday mornings. Sadly, the pool is not ready for use yet so I will keep you posted as to when the children will need their swim kits.

Literacy: The children will be engaging in independent writing this week. They will be given the opportunity to plan and draft their own piece of free writing before editing and publishing. This is always one of the children's favourite tasks as they get to show me which writing skills they have.

Maths: We are all moving onto a new unit on shape. This week, we will be learning about angles, right angles, being able to compare and measure angles as well as identifying triangles.

DT: This half term, we will be cooking. The children will be designing and making their own savoury sandwich. We will be learning about healthy eating, using the Eat Well plate. The children will learn what makes a balanced meal. They will use this knowledge to design their own healthy sandwich.

Computing: Year 3 and Year 4 will be learning  about animation this half term.

Geography:
