Literacy- This week we will be continuing to use the text 'The Robot and the Bluebird'. We will be describing the characters, writing a letter to persuade people to reuse their recycling and stop pollution, writing sentences using different sentence types and writing some dictated sentences.

Phonics - Year 2 will be revising words ending le and el. They will also revise contractions and compound words.

Year1- This week we will be doing phonics activities while all children take the phonics screener with Mrs Enticknap or Mrs McKee. 

Maths- Year 2 will be drawing 1:1 pictograms, interpret 1:1 pictograms, drawing pictograms with a scale of 2,5 and 10's. They will also be practising their arithmetic skills and answering word problems.

Year 1 will be partitioning tens and ones, we will be using 100 number squares, finding one more and one less, we will compare numbers with the same number of tens and we will be comparing 2 numbers. 

Science - Year 1 will be considering what they have painted this year. Year 2 will be observing their butterflies and consolidating learning on life cycles.

Computing - Year 1 will be developing their skills in coding. Year 2 will be creating music using 2 sequence. 

Geography - The children will be finding out about continents and the oceans that surround them, They will be watching some short clips from Blue Planet by David Attenborough. 

They will also be creating a pirate map and writing directions using compass points to direct a partner.

Art - The children will be exploring the work of Hunderwasser.

PE  - The children will be learning team games and developing their swimming alibility.
