Week beginning 16th March
This week in Cedar class, the children will...
Finish our unit on percentages. This culminates in finding percentages of amounts that are multiples of 10 and 5 (Find 20%, 40%, 75%, 95% etc).
The children will also have a fun paired investigation on Wednesday, where they will be challenged to prove or disprove a variety of mathematical statements.
Read Chapter 11 in Harry Potter - Quidditch!
Write and edit a piece of writing (using modal verbs and semi-colons) persuading Dumbledore to allow them to attend Hogwarts in September!
Discuss what we mean by eating a 'balanced diet' and set up a food diary to track what you eat over the course of three days.
Investigate trade links between Britain and El Salvador - one of the world's poorest countries. The children will also look at challenges linked to climate change that affect farmers in this region.
Use drama to unpick the meaning of the 'Stations of the Cross' and explain which characters from the Easter story they can empathise with.
Continue practising their song from last week- this will be performed later in the year!
Create spreadsheets that replicate sporting league tables and use these tables to present information in graphs.
