24th April

WE HAVE HAD TO MOVE P.E LESSONS TO TUESDAY SO CHILDREN WILL NEED TO COME INTO SCHOOL IN P.E KITS ON TUESDAY'S AND WEDNESDAY'S.

This week we are learning about London. We will be finding out about and writing about the London landmarks and London transport. We will be making crowns and necklaces using pasta.

We will also be continuing with our Sunflower Challenge, drawing and painting sunflowers. We will be looking carefully and copying the colours patterns and shapes we see. We will look at how different artists draw and paint sunflowers and how they have created the shapes and patterns we see. We will also be exploring the seed packets and seeing what we notice and what we can find out about what sunflowers look like, how to plant them, when to plant them, what are the different types of sunflowers, where we can buy them from and to see if we can spot any numbers and words on the seed packets.

In phonics, this week we will be recapping the sounds oo (zoo), oo (book), ar, or and writing sentences with these sounds. We are focusing on all the tricky words we have learnt so far.

In maths, we are reading the story Tiny Seed and using a ten frame. Is the ten frame full? How many are left? We will be ordering numbers from 11-20 and making mistakes. Which numbers have been switched round? Which number is missing? We will also be playing lots of maths games to help our understanding of numbers to 20.
